It's Christmas Again!! Es weihnachtet nochmal sehr!
(and guess who hasn't changed her website for ages....) (und rate mal wer ihr Website sehr vernachlässigt hat.......)
What has been going on? (Deutsch an der nächste Seite)
Hallo Friends, well I have gone through an entire year without changing my website!!!! How neglectful of me!!
I guess I have to first--- wish you all a very merry Christmas and holiday season.
Then I suppose we should do some catching up.
The sad news this year for us is the passing of my uncle Chuck in March who suffered many years with Parkinson’s Disease. I am sure he is now in a better place and we are all grateful that his suffering has come to an end.
Lucy was in the hospital, as well, in March because of a seizure, which was quite frightening for all of us. We are grateful that she has been healthy since. She had some problems with her sensory perception (visual and auditory) and was having some problems in school, but she received therapy and we were able to change schools in the fall to the AngellSchool in Freiburg, which not only has a Montessori concept but also has a bilingual program for English. She is doing very well there and is catching up with spelling and math. She is also speaking English with me so that means she may be brave enough to speak English in America when we visit.
In March, we also had a new addition to our family--- Jakob Weber. He is our nephew (the son of Raphie’s brother) and Lucy’s new cousin. He is a bundle of energy and joy. He already flirts with everyone he comes in contact with.
Lucy had a fantastic 8th Birthday party with all her friends at the local Kindergarten, which we rented for the party. We had an Indian theme party with games and great weather.
My music ensemble premiered “Papageno dreams of the Magic Flute” in May and the company is receiving much praise and attention. We hope it keeps on growing.
We vacationed here in Europe this year. Lucy spent a week with her Aunt Inge while Raphie and I went to France on a second honeymoon. Aside from the mostly horrible weather, we had a wonderful time and I was able to use my French to get us a cheaper parking place. We met up with Lucy and Inge in Germany at a Renaissance Fair and whisked Lucy off to a Pony ranch where she was able to spend a week taking riding classes. She had a wonderful pony named Cindy, who was very sweet, despite her sometimes loud digestive issues…..
In October Lucy appeared in the school’s Circus production on the Trapeze as a Pirate. She is usually too shy to perform, so we are all really proud of her.
We also celebrated our famous Halloween Party. My friend Moni and I went all out this year with a spooky treasure hunt, complete with lots of spider webs, a stuffed witch and a body in the attic. Afterwards we went trick or treating and met up at Moni’s for homemade pumpkin soup.
And now Christmas is coming up once more!
